Direct Deposit

Direct Deposit lets you authorize your employer or federal agency, like the Social Security Administration, to deposit your check directly into your AFCU account.

With Direct Deposit you can access your funds without visiting one of our branches. You can arrange with the credit union to have your funds distributed into your accounts as you wish.

Your payroll is immediately available. You can quickly transfer funds, keep track of checks processed and check your balances through the 24-hour phone Access Line.

Direct Deposit eliminates:

  • The risk of stolen or misplaced checks;
  • Delayed deposits. Your funds are deposited regularly and on time. You get paid even if you’re not at work on a payday or can’t make it to AFCU during business hours;
  • Losing potential dividends. With direct deposit you earn dividends on funds as soon as possible; and
  • Forfeiting lunch hours.

Stop at your payroll office to set up direct deposit to AFCU and take advantage of the convenience and security.

Overdraft Protection

If a transaction exceeds the available funds in your checking account, we will take the following actions to ensure your payments and purchases are successful:

Overdraft Line of Credit

If you do not have enough available funds in your Checking Account when a transaction occurs, Advantage will take the funds from your Overdraft Line of Credit to cover the transaction. Instead of being charged a service fee for each transaction, you are only paying a minimal amount of interest. You must apply and be approved for an Overdraft Line of Credit.

Savings Transfer

When a transaction occurs and you do not have available funds in your Checking Account or have an Overdraft Line of Credit, Advantage will transfer the funds from your Savings Account to cover the transaction.

There is a $7.00 per transfer service charge and you must have money in savings in order for the transfer to occur.

Overdraft Protection

If all of the above options are exhausted and you have OPTED IN to Overdraft Protection this will ALLOW Advantage to authorize and pay for the following types of transactions:

  • Checks and other transactions made using your checking account number
  • Automatic bill payments
  • ATM transactions
  • Every day debit card transactions

Advantage pays overdrafts at our discretion, which means Advantage DOES NOT GUARANTEE that it will always be authorized and pay any type of transaction. If we DO NOT authorize and pay an overdraft, your transaction will be declined.

The service charge for Overdraft Protection is $36.00* each time we pay an overdraft. There is NO LIMIT on the total fees we can charge you for overdrawing your account.

You can OPT IN to this additional option by calling (585) 454-5900 or stop in at any branch.

*Fee amount subject to change.

Phone Banking

When you’re away from your computer and Online Banking isn’t available, you can still access your accounts with telephone access.

Although Online Banking provides the greatest flexibility in managing your finances, Telephone Access provides convenient 24-hour availability to your account information at Advantage FCU.

Through Access Line you can:

  • Transfer to another account number in your name (call your Telephone Service Representatives to set this up; they will link your accounts for you)
  • Determine if checks have already cleared and withdrawals and deposits made
  • Make loan payments (through transfer option)
  • Stop payment on a check

How to Access

A personal identification number (PIN) is required to access your accounts.

To reach Access Line, use a touch-tone phone, dial (585) 454-5900 (ext. 2), or toll-free, (888) 454-AFCU (ext. 2).

It’s Safe

Telephone Access Line has numerous security features so that you can be assured your accounts are safe and secure.

  • The computer issues your PIN. You are the only person who knows what that number is so be sure to keep it in a safe, convenient place. If you lose or forget your personal identification number, it can be reissued.
  • To access your account you must use both your member number and your PIN. You may customize your PIN by pressing 5 at the main menu.
  • All withdrawals are issued by check, must be made payable only to the owner of the account, and must be mailed only to the address on file. Any change of address must be requested by a signed authorization by the owner of the account.

A Few Tips
